This podcast has been a wonderful introduction to my new adopted home. And the degree of information packed into an episode is truly impressive. In fact, I have now had several conversations with native Swedes who said that I seem to know far more about their country’s history than them! (So long as the conversation stays in the 14th century and before) Which is really just to say: I really need Chris and Åsa to keep things up so that I can start holding my own when it comes to the House of Vasa, the Reformation, and beyond!
Keeps getting better and better!

Excellent. I started this podcast a few months ago, and have finally caught up through the 70 episodes. I feel simultaneously satisfied from having learned so much, but also free since I can listen every other week instead of every day, and can enjoy other podcasts or music in between episodes. As an American that recently moved to Stockholm, I have found it fascinating to learn about the history of my new home. The hosts are great storytellers, and I’ve particularly enjoyed the stories of Sweden’s more clever leaders, especially Olga of Kiev, Birger Jarl, and the ongoing tales of Queen Margareta. I’ve repeated many of their stories to friends at parties, and I assume the blank faces I receive in response are simply due to their minds being blown. … P.S. Since my dog Diego is no longer allowed to use the internet, I’m also including his review below. “Woof woof. 4.5 out of 5 stars. This podcast has been fantastic at keeping my owner entertained on our daily walks, so I get even more exercise outdoors even though it has been very cold. However, I must deduct half a star as there has been not enough focus on the history of pets in Sweden. The hosts are clearly biased toward their own species, and could do more to give recognition to the pet cats, bears, and especially dogs that ruled over the last couple millennia. The recent shoutout to Princess Filippa’s horses was a good start though, so I’m optimistic for the future. Woof woof woof. Woof.

I love your podcasts and I can say I am addicted to it. Everyday on my way to work and back to home, I listen to this amazing podcast. Before finding it, I was kind of disappointed since all of the podcasts about Sweden history are in Swedish and I could not understand them. But when I found this perfect Flatpack History of Sweden in English, I was so happy, specially that it is explained chronically. It could not be better than this. Thank you for your perfect work. One thing that I am struggling with is that the pictures of the episodes do not show. I listen to the podcast on “podcast” app on my iPhone. Could not solve this problem which is really annoying.
Very near to Hagadösen på Orust.
