Old folks home podcast- Jordan Nurney
For my HIST 439 project I decided to research “old folks homes” with emphasis on post Social Security Act of 1935 as well as a historical and contemporary description of the culture change movement of nursing homes to person-centered care, I also interviewed my grandparents and best friend who live in a continuing care facility about their memories of their grandparents and parents as well as their experience of living in a continuing care facility. I would like to thank Dr. Brannon my history professor for allowing me to do this project, Beth Wilson, and my grandparents Jim and Tuckie Paxton for letting me interview them.
