Eggs are a whole food that provide protein along with nutrients including vitamins A, D, E, B12, folate, iron, zinc and choline. However, there is still lingering patient concern over the cholesterol in eggs. This is despite recent research showing that eggs have a minimal impact on blood cholesterol levels, and do not increase the risk for heart disease.
