Big Ranty Time, The Cash Starved NHS and Clothes Worn Inside Out

This episode was recorded on 3rd March 2020, so before the pandemic had shown its full force in the UK. The themes that Rachel and Nicci are covering here became all too obvious when COVID-19 hit Britain, the NHS did not have enough supplies to cope with the demand. Here, the episode goes into the mental health provision side of the NHS. Our hosts talk about how autistic people and those who use Gender Identity Clinics are often denied a service.

Wrestling With Your Inner Mediocre White Man

Wrestling With Your Inner Mediocre White Man

This episode was recorded in simpler times when the main topic of conversation was what would happen after Brexit. Rachel and Nicci talk about how access to the NHS and prescription services has changed in the austerity years. The negative thoughts that pop into their heads are renamed their inner mediocre white men. Our intrepid podcast hosts explore their food preferences for eating their feelings in an effort to cope with the stress and this leads on to a chat about autistic masking. Rachel describes what it was like for her as a physically disabled, autistic woman going to a gig. The mask well and truly came off but the lure of Grace Petrie made it all worth while.

Self-care, Naps and Say Yes To Gravy

Self-care, Naps and Say Yes To Gravy

In this episode, Rachel and Nicci are talking about self-care and the many different ways you can do this. In some respects it is a 'do as I say and not as I do' discussion as Rachel admits that taking a few moments to cry in the car park before going into work wasn't her best form of self-care in the long run.

They share their favourite nap rituals and get some inspiration for new ways to care for themselves using The Blurt Foundation's Self Care Card set.

Imposter syndrome and detachable guilt organs

Imposter syndrome and detachable guilt organs

Rachel and Nicci help the listeners get to know them in this first episode. They then go on to talk about what it feels like to experience imposter syndrome. This leads on to a discussion about working out how responsible you are in any situation by using the responsibility pie method. We both think it should be responsibility cake so you could eat one as you learn.
