    We’ll dive into a stack of new releases from KC area musicians and bands. Also, it’s Pledge Week!     The Creature Comforts and Plaza Art Fair

    It's a show in two parts! The first part, The Creature Comforts have a reunion show coming up on Friday, Sept 27 at recordBar and are releasing their album Teaching Little Fingers To Play for the first time on vinyl. Billy Brimblecom Jr. and Christopher Tolle will stop by, hang out, and tell us some great stories about recording the album with Ed Rose and how you can turn the noise of breaking a beer bottle into percussion. For the second part of the show, we'll preview some of the acts playing at the Plaza Art Fair this weekend. In addition to 240 artists showcasing their work and 20 restaurants serving up food and drink, 40 bands/singer-songwriters will play on three stages over the weekend. Tune in and hear selections from The Phantastics, Nathan Corsi and My Atomic Daydream, Erin Eades, The Canterberries , Say That Again, Lorna Kay, Christena Graves, Leah Sproul, and The Village Prairie.

    Camp Leavenworth

    We welcome in special guests, the band Run With It. They’re stopping by to hang out and debut some new music, talk about upcoming shows, and preview a big community fest happening just down the road a bit from KC, Camp Leavenworth on September 20 and 21. They’ll also be your pre-game entertainment out at Arrowhead this Sunday, playing the Ford Tailgate District in the parking lot before the game. And they’re also on deck to headline the Blue Springs Fall Fun Fest on Friday, Sept 20. Tune in and hear selections from Run With It’s catalog, as well as the stories behind the songs. Also on the show, we’ll hear from other acts playing Camp Leavenworth including Emma Jo, The Champagne, Starhaven Rounders, and Exit 13. For more info about this free two-day event, check out Camp Leavenworth on social media and their website. But before we get to all of that on the show today at 6PM, we’ll announce the lineup for Apocalypse Meow. Meow is an annual event for the Midwest Music Foundation and this year marks the 17th year of this live-giving and live-saving fundraiser concert. MMF is a non-profit organization supporting music and empowering musicians. The annual event is on Saturday, November 2 at recordBar.

    Tales From The Eras Tour: Eric Fain

    We sit down with a special guest. Recently the European leg of The Eras Tour wrapped up and two people on that tour were excited to leave Europe and hop on a plane headed towards Kansas City. One of those people is Taylor Swift, and she wasn’t available so we got the other person, and that’s Eric Fain. Eric just wrapped up 48 shows with Taylor Swift and Paramore working production for the biggest tour EVER. In addition to working in production, he is also an amazing musician. On the show at 6PM today we’ll hear music from his project called Bahroot as well as selections from Taylor Swift, Paramore, Amber DeLaRosa, Poppy, and Doubledrag. And of course we’ll talk about The Eras Tour - things he saw, the things he did, the things that blew his mind, and we’ll find out how many friendship bracelets he was given along the way.

    Tunesday - The Canterberries

    We’re broadcasting LIVE from The Beer Hall at Boulevard Brewery. It will be a pre-party for the Kansas City Irish Fest, which is coming up on Labor Day weekend at Crown Center. On the show today will be special guests, The Canterberries and Nick Carswell of the band Carswell & Hope. You’re invited to come hang out with us today at The Beer Hall! The show will be live at 6PM, followed by a FREE concert at 7PM from The Canterberries. It’s an all-ages and family-friendly night. On the show, we’ll talk with The Canterberries about the acts they’re excited to see at KCIF and memories from past fests. We’ll also play music from some acts traveling a very long way to play at KCIF for the first time. Then Nick Carswell will join us to talk about the MixTape portion of the fest, it’s one of my favorite parts of the fest. During the broadcast, you’ll hear music from The Canterberries, Elias Alexander, Corner Boy, Screaming Orphans, Mundy, SÍOMHA, Hermitage Green, and Julia Othmer.

    Hembree - Better Days

    Today on the Eight One Sixty we welcome into our studios the band Hembree. Hembree’s brand new album, Better Days just came out and we’re going to play the entire album, in order, and talk about each song. Also, we’re live without a net and no clock, if we need more than 60 minutes the show will go long so we can fit in the entire album!Hembree has two shows this week here in KC, and less than 10 tix remain!     We'll dive into the lineup for the 20th annual KKFI Crossroads Music Fest (CMFKC), it's happening on August 24 and 25 featuring 30+ bands on 7 stages over 2 days. On the broadcast, we'll play music from these acts on the lineup: Flight Attendant, Keo&Them, Jamogi, Brent Windler, FlareThaRebel, Rachel Maxann, Supermassive Black Holes, Zee Underscore, and Talking Backwards. We'll also hear one from Grand Marquis who are celebrating their 25th anniversary as a band and will be playing at The Folly Theater on August 25 as part of CMF.
