Saint Vitus in Greenpoint, Brooklyn is not only a popular neighborhood bar, it hosts bands that no other club their size would ever manage to land. In our interview, we talk about Arty's teen years as a metalhead on Long Island, seeing the world in iconic hardcore bands like Mind Over Matter, and what led him to become the proprietor of multiple venues in NYC.     75 John Woods - Movie Theater Programming Director ( Hell No - Hot Poop Zine )

    You may know this week’s guest from his band, Hell No, but even if you aren’t a hardcore punk rock fan, you may know him from his legendary video store Reel Life Video, which existed on Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg well before the boutiques and luxury apartments. John later went on to co-found Nitehawk Cinema, where he still works as director of programming and acquisitions. In our conversation we dork out about music, movies and dive into the intricacies of making his dream of a movie theater that serves high-quality food and drinks a reality.
