US President Donald Trump is reportedly preparing to sign an executive order on Friday to rebrand the Department of Defense as the Department of War.

据美国媒体报道，总统唐纳德・特朗普计划于周五签署一项行政令，将美国国防部重新命名为“战争部”。

The order would allow the name to be used as a secondary title in official correspondence, with references such as "Secretary of War", reported local media outlets.A full legal change would still require congressional approval.

报道指出，该行政令将允许“战争部” 作为官方文书中的次要名称使用，相关称谓如 “战争部长” 也将随之启用。不过，这一名称的全面法律变更仍需获得美国国会批准。

Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had argued the revival underscores a stronger "warrior ethos". Critics warned it could incur high costs and distract from security priorities.

此前，特朗普与国防部长皮特・赫格塞斯曾声称，恢复“战争部” 这一旧称，意在彰显更强的 “战士精神”。但批评人士警告，此举可能产生高额成本，还会分散对国家安全重点事务的关注。

"Defense is too defensive," Trump said last month. "And we want to be defensive, but we want to be offensive too if we have to be. So, it just sounded to me like a better name."

特朗普上月曾表示：“‘国防’一词过于偏向防御性。我们固然希望做好防御，但在必要时也需要具备进攻能力。因此，在我看来，‘战争部’是个更合适的名称。”

The Department of War, created in 1789, directed the US Army and oversaw America's military through both World Wars before being consolidated into the Department of Defense in 1949.

历史资料显示，“战争部” 成立于 1789 年，曾负责指挥美国陆军，并在两次世界大战期间主管美国军事事务。1949 年，该部门被整合重组，更名为 “国防部” 并沿用至今。
