11/14/24: Will Airbnbs return to the long-term rental market?

A new pilot program is exploring a different approach to the region’s housing crisis. Three Adirondack nonprofits have teamed up to help homeowners turn existing short-term rentals, like Airbnb and VRBO, into more traditional long-term rentals. The Great Meadow state prison in Washington County officially closed yesterday after months of community uproar. Local business owners are worried about how it'll impact the economy in the area east of Lake George. Also: The Plattsburgh city council is set to vote tonight on whether to launch an investigation into claims of wrongdoing by city police and the mayor's office.
