By Her Shelf Podcast is all about introducing readers to books worth reading and people worth following. Each week, you'll get to know one reader based solely on her (or, on occasion, his) shelf--the books she/he reads, writes, or helps bring into the world. Occasionally, By Her Shelf will feature solo episodes from founder and podcast host Erica D. Hearns, topical episodes featuring By Her Shelf Contributors Alex and Christina, or other special bookish content.

Sown in Light with Tekira Briscoe
Today's guest is Tekira Briscoe. Tekira is a wife, homeschooling mom, and talented poet who recently published her debut poetry collection, Sown in Light. Sown in Light is a captivating collection of poems, stories and experiences that paved the way of Tekira's spiritual journey. In this episode, Tekira and I discuss her rule for books with TV or movie adaptations, how celebrity memoirs are like testimony service, why Tekira's bookshelves don't have books, and of course, Sown in Light. Sit back with your favorite fall beverage and enjoy this conversation with debut author Tekira Briscoe on her poetry collection Sown in Light.

Behind the Shelf: Review Bombing
Welcome to the first episode of Behind the Shelf, where I (and sometimes a guest!) discuss issues of importance to our reading lives. Today I'm discussing review bombing, a practice that not only can hurt a book's sales, but can get it pulled from the publication schedule altogether. Have strong opinions on review bombing? Email me at byhershelf@gmail.com. I will feature responses on the next Behind the Shelf episode.

Customer Reviews
Great content and knowledgeable host
I enjoy this show because it is slightly different than the other bookish shows I have listened to. I like the host’s faith-based approach and the variety of guests. She asks great questions and many of the deep-seated reasons we all read are uncovered. It’s a fantastic show and I look forward to hearing more!
Great concept and great style!
Love the concept of this show. And there’s a really cool style to the interviews. It feels both professional - like I’m getting a lot of out it, but also down to Earth and comfortable. Great show!
