Menopause and perimenopause are tough. Let's just break it down quickly.
After years of relative homeostasis in our bodies, things just start to go a little haywire across most body systems. We see mood changes, skin changes, difficulty sleeping, hot flashes, and then the pièce de résistance for many people... our weight can sneak upwards and aggregate around the middle without changing anything about our diets. Tough!
Now just remember, there's light on the other side of the tunnel and everybody will eventually make it there. But in my years as a doctor and weight loss expert, I've found that professional women tend to struggle a bit more than others when it comes to weight loss in menopause. So in this episode of the Vibrant Menopause Podcast, we'll be exploring the very specific reasons why this is, as well as strategies for navigating some of the main challenges that professional women face on their menopause/perimenopause weight loss journeys.
As you'll hear in this episode, when I hit menopause I also struggled with my weight until I learned about managing my hormones through healthy, menopause-tailored eating. At that point I was able to lose 27 pounds and keep them off, and now I find so much joy in helping other professional women through the same challenges that I faced.
