Spokane businessman Eric Johnston served as president of the Motion Picture Association of America, chairman of the US Chamber of Commerce, and an appointed official in the Truman and Eisenhower administrations. Eric was born in Washington, D.C. on the 21st of December, 1895, and moved with his family to the mining town of Marysville, Montana, when he was a little boy. However, when the valuable minerals vanished, the family packed up and relocated west to Spokane. Known for his role in establishing the Hollywood Blacklist, Eric Johnson went on to become a highly controversial figure in later life.
