“The Rise of SuperMouth,” which moved her to tears on the trade show floor. Learn about his start in dentistry, his filmmaking ventures, and how he built a dental practice that’s so fun, it once beat SeaWorld as most popular attraction in San Diego.
Dr. Kami knows the importance of making oral care education accessible to everyone, especially kids. Most of the time, this means making it fun, whether it’s a movie about dentist superheroes, designing dental offices to look like theme parks, or creating toothpaste flavours that make brushing a delight. Dr. Kami is reinventing the patient care paradigm in America. Armed with a master’s in craniofacial biology from USC, a doctorate in dental surgery from UCLA, and a post-doctorate in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, he co-founded The Super Dentists with his business partner and wife, Dr. Nazli Keri. Over the last twenty years, The Super Dentists has become one of the leading multi-specialty dental practices in the country, utilizing the latest tools and techniques to provide patients with the safest, fastest, and most extraordinary dental experience ever. One of their newest offerings is SuperMouth, is a customized subscription box designed to send families everything they need for oral health, from specially developed toothbrushes and toothpaste, to games for kids and resources for parents.
Dr. Kami is on the Board of Counselors at UCLA School of Dentistry and is the Chairman of the Board at Howard Healthcare Academy, which he founded due to his frustration with the fragmented healthcare education model at current schools in California. He is also a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the San Diego Dental Society.
As if that wasn’t enough, Dr. Kami is also a well-known author due to his number one best seller, “If Your Mouth Could Talk” — a comprehensive guide that explores various aspects of oral health and orthodontics. He discusses the connection between mouth and body and explains the importance of early intervention in dental issues especially in children. Dr. Kami has been featured in hundreds of media outlets covering topics ranging from the correlation between bad breath and illnesses, to the newest guidelines for children’s dental health. He is frequently featured on NBC, ABC, FOX, NPR, and CBS affiliates nationally and in the San Diego area, where he resides with his family.
