Decolonizing our Faith--excellent podcast!

The recent podcast on decolonizing our faith, with the Christian leader from India who now lives in Canada, was a much-needed and insightful discussion. Christians need to hear this. Thank you, Tim. --Cory

I love this podcast! Tim is an incredible host. I didn’t grow up in the Evangelical church, but I did grow up in a very traditional, conservative Lutheran church. Once I started attending a nondenominational church I began to realize that I didn’t necessarily agree with everything my church growing up believed. This podcast is a feel good one for me because it helps validate my own deconstruction of faith and provides a safe space for me to explore that without judgement and pressure.

I hear y’all. It’s the same diatribe from the progressive left. Your argument does not consider how corrupt both political parties are as a result of the Citizens United SCOTUS decision that enabled the 1% to buy both house of Congress and to fill the SCOTUS with conservative justices. There is and always has been only one politician who named the problem of income disparity and who proposed a solution. His name is Bernie Sanders. He read the discontent of the masses and knew what was needed to counter the misdirection rants of Donald Trump. Bernie Sanders was intentionally sidetracked from being a candidate for president by the democratic leadership. Why? Because Congress has been corrupted by (1) the desire to remain in office, (2) the cost of running for office and (3) unlimited contributions by the 1% to ensure that big business can continue to operate with the least amount of restrictions. Let’s look at the United Healthcare problem. How in the world did bean counters take over the administration of healthcare? They did it with the consent of the medical profession. The most odious task in the medical system is paperwork. Doctors want to doctor, not fill out reams if forms to bill individuals for services rendered. The MBAs saw an opportunity to take on the administrative tasks. They proposed a system whereby they can handle the paperwork, control cost, and ensure a healthy paycheck for providers. What’s to hate? In our economic system of free market capitalism (that is, capitalism with the fewest regulations), the MBA bean counters could turn a healthy profit for themselves and their shareholders by controlling costs as well as income. The more they can control costs (expenses), the greater the profit margin. For UHC, denial of services was a high priority. The clerks who processed the claims followed the script in the playbook. They are not physicians. By denying medical treatments, they were practicing medicine without a license. In my world, that is illegal. But not in the economic world. From its founding, the elitists who wrote the constitution were the Illuminati, the educated upper class Western European White MEN. They separated religion from governance because they did not want to be sidetracked by values-based machinations. The goal then and now was the pursuit of wealth they called happiness. It was happy for the elite but not for the masses of laborers. To appease the masses, they created a 2-tiered Congress. The House of Representatives were the common folk who could serve for 2 years as representatives of their townships then return to their farms and.businesses. The Senate was the elite lawmakers who served 6 years, chosen by the state governments, and intended to be more of a career controlling the actions of the House as well as the president and who would serve as Supreme Court justices. So how does an ordinary citizen solve the problem of widespread government corruption, extreme economic inequalities, and the collapse of the system of checks and balances within the federal government? We like to fool ourselves into thinking that we are guided by Christian values. This is a myth. Religion was excluded by the constitution as a factor of qualification for government service. Steve Bannon, in 2016, proposed the radical solution of tearing everything down and remake the country, in effect, a second (or third, if one counted the Civil War) American revolution.

The Affordable Care Act was actually a compromise on what Democrats tried to get passed. Obama wanted Congress to pass a Medicare type healthcare for all people. The majority of Democrats were in favor, however, there were a few “blue dog” Dems and all republicans that made that impossible. So ACA was designed as a compromise and modeled after plans that existed in Massachusetts.
