Compelling, sincere, and instructive podcast for the ADHD community. This podcast was recommended to me by my therapist as I'm figuring out whether I have ADHD. All I know is that I feel less alone when I listen to her and her guests converse--that I can putter around my home and do housework or exercise with her in my headphones and not be paralyzed with anxiety about what to do next in my life. Kristen, thank you for your work! My life is better because you and your team are doing it. From one classically trained music-major brain to another, I see you and I feel seen! She's like the Oprah of ADHD! However, buyer beware--she's not an academic, this isn't a foundation, and she's not putting on this show just for lolz or just in the public interest. Carder is running a business here. Her sponsored content and business are as tastefully placed into the body of her programming as can be expected of a for-profit show, but if you're a vigilant thinker, sensitive to and curious about content creator's motivations, know that she and her people aren't doing this for hugs--they've all got kids to feed and put through school. That said, this is as good as it gets in terms of RESPONSIBLE INFORMATION and GOOD VIBES. Five Stars!

Hi! I’m a new listener. I happened upon episode 299 and I instantly clicked with it. I decided to begin all the way back at episode 1 and work my way up to the current episodes. I’m on episode 30 and can honestly say I’ve learned something or had a positive takeaway from each episode. You have a way of explaining me and my ADHD in ways I can’t do myself and I understand myself so much better. I can relate to so many things you talk about. I could go on and on but mainly, I just wanted to thank you for sharing your experiences and knowledge so that we can understand ourselves better.
This Podcast Truly Changed My Life

3 years ago I was diagnosed with combined type ADHD. I didn’t even know adults could have ADHD until that point. I found Kristen’s podcast not long after that and it has been a weekly staple in my house. I was always a very sensitive person and had a hard time regulating my emotions. As mentioned in this episode, there were times that one thing could derail my entire day, almost every day. It seemed like it got worse after each child I had. I have been listening and doing the work and this past year I have seen so much improvement mentally. I can actually stop and allow myself to feel the emotion before it consumes me and go about my day. I didn’t know I had the capability of controlling my own emotions. I always assumed they just controlled me. Because of Kristen, I am a better Mom. I am learning to be kinder to myself, which then shows through the way I raise my kids. I have learned to set boundaries that I never could have dreamed of doing before, so I don’t burn out from always saying yes. In a world where anyone can say whatever they want on the internet, it’s hard to find authentic people wanting to truly help. With Kristen, ADHD isn’t just a trending hashtag. She does the research to actually help others thrive. I appreciate who she is and the work she has done to help us.
