297: [UNICORN] Let's Talk About Sex!

Today on the show we’re talking all things S-E-X. How comfortable do you feel discussing sex and sexual health with your patients? Have you even considered these conversations if you work in a speciality like cardiology or rheumatology? Where do you even start? My guest today is Aleece Fosnight, a PA with experience in urology, gynecology, pelvic health, gender affirming care, sexual medicine, and sexuality counseling. In 2020, she opened her own private practice, the Fosnight Center for Sexual Health, in Asheville, NC to provide a bio-psycho-social approach to sexual health. Sexuality and sexual health is integral to our overall health and well-being. We all deserve to have high-functioning sexual health. As medical providers, we have the opportunity to guide patients along this journey.  If you don’t talk about sex with your patients, are you really providing holistic care? Show patients you care about them as a whole person by discussing their sexual health concerns in a positive and supportive manner. Aleece walks us through how to have these conversations and how we can negate the shame and stigma many feel around sex.  SPONSORS AAPA Job Source: aapa.org/pajobsource LMNT Electrolyte Drink Mix: http://elementallabs.refr.cc/default/u/tracybingaman CONNECT WITH ALEECE Website: https://fosnightcenter.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/fosnightcenter https://www.instagram.com/sexmedpa LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/aleece-fosnight-85646375 RESOURCES International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health: https://www.isswsh.org Sexual Medicine Society of North America: https://www.smsna.org COACHING 1-ON-1 NEGOTIATION CONSULT https://calendly.com/the-pa-is-in/negotiate  FREE 30-MINUTE COACHING CONSULT https://calendly.com/the-pa-is-in/gen-call   LINKS EPISODE BLOG POST https://www.tracybingaman.com/blog TRACY ON INSTAGRAM https://www.instagram.com/mrstracybingaman/ TRACY ON LINKEDIN https://www.linkedin.com/in/tracybingaman/ SUPPORT THIS PODCAST: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thepaisin/support
