323. Parenting Principles: Raising Peacemakers

The Warrior Mama Podcast

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Conflict is a natural part of life, but how we handle it can make all the difference. As parents, we have an opportunity to teach our children the importance of resolving conflict in a way that reflects our calling to be peacemakers.

The Gospel challenges us to seek peace, as seen in Romans 12:17-18, which urges us to live at peace with everyone as much as we can. This doesn't mean avoiding conflict altogether but approaching it with the goal of bringing reconciliation. We can teach our children that being a peacemaker starts with love.

When we guide our kids through disagreements, we can encourage them to pause, take a deep breath, and ask themselves: How can I work towards peace in this situation?

Teaching our children to be peacemakers prepares them to navigate life's challenges with grace and love. It equips them with the skills to bridge the gap between hurt and healing, showing the world a glimpse of the gospel in action.
