Shanghainese Language Still Alive?

之后,她在网上发表了一篇题为《Shanghainese May Be A Dying Language, But It’s Not Dead Yet》(上海话或许正在消亡,但它尚未死去)的文章。 How many Shanghainese people living overseas still continue to speak Shanghainese? Recently, a Shanghai-born woman who grew up in the United States interviewed our podcast, as well as several other people who are still using the Shanghainese dialect. She then published an online article titled “Shanghainese May Be A Dying Language, But It’s Not Dead Yet.” Inspired by this, we, two Shanghai moms, wanted to dedicate this episode to talking about what Shanghainese means to us and how we can pass down this dialect. On this, Maomao has done an especially outstanding job. Tune in to hear more!   If you like this and want to hear more, subscribe to the show so you get a new episode every week. While kids may not have that same reflex, having a stranger poke around in their mouths can still make them feel nervous or even scared. Luckily, Maomao has found some helpful ways to ease her kids’ fears and help them feel more comfortable with dental visits. In this episode, Minmin and Maomao share their children's experiences at the dentist, from their very first visits to some funny and unexpected moments along the way. Finding the right live-in doula isn’t easy. Since the nanny lives in your home and cares for the baby 24/7, she spends even more time with the new mom than a roommate would. This means she needs not only professional skills and experience, but also the ability to get along well with others. After having twins, Minmin hired both a postpartum doula and a baby nanny, and in the process gained some valuable insights. Tune in to hear what she learned!
