After a COVID Super Spreader event, he had a positive test, but no symptoms... for weeks, more positive tests and no symptoms... until he got up out of bed and immediately fell to the floor. In this case example, Karen discusses proportionate balance between rubrics, and how to include similar or related rubrics BOTH as a combined set and individuating details. After a COVID exposure, she noticed her left eye began to itch. The next morning she was disoriented on waking, and her inner eye and inside of eyelids were very red, itchy, and discharging white and yellow pus - eeeew! In this case example, Karen discusses the individuation of each COVID case and the concept of ’taking cold’ in a particular organ, along with translations of client words into archaic clinical terms we find in the repertory. 41yo Female: COVID Cough, Confusion and ”Oversensitive like Chamomilla”

After her weekend at a wedding with attendees from all around the world, this woman came home feeling ill. Her at home COVID test was positive. She began to feel the strong heat of a fever. As a study group member familiar with acute therapeutics, she chose Belladonna, which relieved the fever. The next day she noticed a spasmodic cough, confusion and a level of upset about her symptoms that seemed out of proportion for what was actually happening. In this case example, Karen discusses the size and breadth of rubrics, translation of upset into language of the repertory, and aspects of the carbon remedies. She reports an exposure to two people who have postive COVID tests; she now has symptoms though home test is negative. She describes having a sore throat ”in the hangy-down thing” at the back of her mouth, along with swollen glands. In this case example, Karen discusses methods of inquiry: clients often do not know they type of data we need, and may not be aware of their symptoms. She got COVID, positive test and typical symptoms, then recovered after about 10 days. She felt well in most ways, but her urinary track was seriously altered! This is a documented Long COVID scenario which now, 8 months after the initial COVID illness, is disrupting her life. The frequent urination and feeble stream are annoying, but the occasional complete emptying of her bladder at night while asleep is really awful. Her first round with COVID laid her out for 3 weeks, followed by a full recovery. The second round was quicker, but NBWS! Now 3 months later, she gets freezing cold after eating a big meal - unless she can get up and pace around! This case offers clear symptoms that are easy for the client to describe, but harder for us to find in the repertory - including directionality of chill on the back. Up? Down? Up and down?
