#42 Social prescription (ingl. k)

Pearaadio: vaimse tervise taskuhääling

(Taskuhääling on inglise keeles)

Social prescribing is an approach used in more than 30 countries. It connects people to activities, groups, and services in their community to meet the practical, social and emotional needs that affect their health and wellbeing. When going to the physician/the doctor in addition to the regular "What's the matter with you?" they ask "What matters to you?" As a result a simple personalised care and support plan is put together, that supports people to take control of their health and wellbeing.
So it might just happen that you walk out from a specialist office with a prescription to join a nature walking group or comedy writing course.

Comedian Angie Belcher is here to talk about social prescribing and the upcoming UK stand-up show "Healing by Feeling Funny"
