Catherine Sherlock is a leadership consultant and founder of Higher Mindfulness who is in the business of transforming leaders from the inside out. She has a different approach to meditation so people can take back their own power and enhance their leadership capacity. Each medication has its own strengths, and is not a one size fits all.
Though Catherine has a Masters degree in Environmental Studies and was a sustainability consultant but the work declined because company budgets declined. This prompted her to look at the work place and humanity as a whole to see where the holes are in focusing. She has been studying under various teachers
Catherine says that we are taught that our left brain is supposed to be control of our right brain. She says that when we change our thinking about that, we are able to access a deeper consciousness. By doing this, we can avoid living out of fear since we live our life trying to avoid pain. If you are not coming into cohesion, you are on autopilot so it is essential that leaders should expand their consciousness.
Catherine says leaders have self-doubt and their own emotions since we have been taught to deal with them in a way that keeps us in an internal struggle. She says we fight within ourselves, and we need to make ourselves allies by making a life transforming switch. The problem with burnout and stress is at an all time high and essentially burnout is an epidemic. We need to get out of “overwhelm” and get into empowerment. She says that we use “ego” to create a disconnect from self like we do with negative emotions. Leaders should be taught how to deal with their emotions better so we can turn our energy towards more positive work that will leave us feeling fulfilled.
Catherine says we are supposed to use our right and our left brains in tandem and using intuition would make us much more productive leaders.
Catherine says you can do well by doing good in the world.
