The Holy Post
Join VeggieTales and What's in the Bible? creator Phil Vischer and co-host Skye Jethani (author, speaker, pastor) for a fast-paced and often funny conversation about pop culture, media, theology, and the fun, fun, fun of living a thoughtful Christian life in an increasingly post-Christian culture.

It’s gotten too serious!
Nov 8
I love The Holy Post podcast. I’m really listening from the first episode to all the way through and I love it so much. I just feel like it’s gotten way too serious and there’s not that funny fun loving little tidbit in there that I always enjoy in the beginning episode.

Chaos. I usually seek and enjoy the format of differing perspectives -even worldviews presented in the form of discussion or debate. In my opinion, the Holy Post is increasingly chaotic, particularly Mr. Vischer and Jethani's input, on the regular. Obtuse. Arrogance cloaked in humilty. Blindness to their own bias... Perhaps it is an intentional schtick. Regarding David French's comments on tolerance for scandal and voting one's self interest… Give me a break. Which scandal or presence of a lack of character and immorality weighs more heavily, because they are present in both candidates lives and in both administrations? Other than abstaining or voting third-party, both of which I have done, it is a binary choice. Trump's character faiings are known ad nauseum, including January 6th. The peaceful transfer of power issue seems to be the tipping point for many, yet he was not impeached, the institutions held to allow for a somewhat peaceful transfer of power, and despite a costly televised congressional investigation, the resultant recommendations, lawfare, and several assassination attempts – – here Trump is, once again president elect. Harris had a long-standing usurious affair/relationship with a married man. Never talked about. She is a rabid advocate for extreme abortion stances and trans policies, and given her flip-flopping and kowtowing -- whatever other extreme policies come down the road that seem to service or advance her self-serving agenda. She has demonstrated no presence of moral courage or compass, at all. She, at this point, has simply had less access to money (other than the 1+ billion in campaign donations) and lessor power and presence on a world stage for a shorter period of time with which to more publicly demonstrate her lack of character and competance. She is equal to Trump in many ways but, thankfully, wields less presence and power. What happened to your "character commiserate to the office they are seeking" guideline? As a woman, she is not the woman that I would choose to represent women or our country as the first female president. Her performance as VP was dismal. Her probable poor performance as POTUS could have set us back another decade on that hopeful possibility. Another man in office who is competent but demonstrates questionable or poor character is commonplace, just another in a very long line in most if not all domains of cultural influence, including the church. Yet, the world keeps turning. Those are the reasons for my vote --informed prayerful pragmatism not low information,, disinformation, misinformation, prejudice, bigotry, or a self-serving agenda. Period.
Disappointed

I wish y’all would have a guest on that might have voted differently, so that you could understand instead of theorizing why. Give you 2 stars because at least I get a variety of views of why you believe differently.
Can’t listen these clowns anymore

This used to be a really good podcast. Skye is a good speaker and author, and his books are generally very thought provoking. They've had a lot of interesting guests through the years, but in the last couple of years it’s become unlistenable. They are so blatantly one sided, so quick to punch right, but never give even the slightest critique of the left. It’s become an echo chamber, and I might as well be watching The View. And I’m not really sure why Phil is actually on the show. He’s never serious, never adds anything meaningful to the conversation, he’s always trying to crack jokes, but they always flop. The only bright spots on the show are Kaitlyn and Esau, but they have their own podcasts now, so you can listen to them without Skye’s sanctimony and Phil’s terrible jokes.
