138. Unlocking Inner Strength and Confidence: How to Overcome The Past & Begin Rewriting Your Story & Find Hope / Quote & Quick Encouragement
Hi friend!
Today's a short episode, and I HOPE it encourages you!
I'm sharing one of my favorite quotes and verse—Romans 15:13.
Sometimes, life wears us out so much that we forget we have what we need inside to live a beautiful life.
I hope today's episode reminds you of the strength and wisdom God has given you deep within your being.
Sometimes, the best thing from hard times that we walk through is the wisdom birthed through it.
Quote: "What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies with us." --Ralph Waldo EmersonRomans 15:13: "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with the hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
Enjoy!

137. Does Praying Make Your Anxiety Worse At Times? 3 Tips & Prayers
Hi friend!
If you've ever felt more anxious after praying or wrestled with thoughts like, "Why isn't prayer helping?!" and "Am I doing it wrong?" and so many others, today's episode is for you.
I'm sharing a few thoughts about it all, as well as some very simple yet profound prayers that have changed the game for me when I'm struggling, especially with anxiety. I hope they help you, too.
The prayers mentioned today:
The Surrender Prayer:
Jesus, I surrender myself to you. Take care of everything. Amen.
The Lord's Prayer:
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
The Serenity Prayer:
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Amen.

And I love and live by this quote: "The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world's deep hunger meet." — Frederick Buechner

133. A Close Call. I Had A Drink, But I'm Still Sober. Story Time & Some Encouragement.
Hi friend,
Well, life got real for me a couple of weeks ago when I unexpectedly drank alcohol on accident after over 13 years of sobriety.
I am still sober, by the Grace of God.
I'm sharing the story in today's episode.
There is so much more I could have shared, but I kept it short.
I've learned so much through this experience, and I'm sure I will share more about it all in the future.
For today, please know how grateful I am for this community and how thankful I am that you're here with us.
I'm also so grateful for the gift of life, for actually living and thriving, not just surviving.
Having this brush up with reality reminded me that I never want to take my sobriety or this beautiful life for granted.
But by the Grace of God...
*If you are actively struggling with an addiction, please find a local recovery group in your town. We all need support in times of struggle, and you are not alone.
