The show connects you to a wonderful old school gaming community with cons and magazines of their very own. Easily my favorite podcast of all time, i cannot recommend them enough to fans of AD&D, new and old.

Dan and James had a chemistry that made the show work. I’m sorry to learn Dan is not doing the show anymore. Of the numerous guests they have, almost all have redeeming qualities except Vic Dorso. He is everything wrong with 1e. He relishes in trumpeting about killing characters. A 20 HD plesiosaur against first level characters? I don’t think you rolled that, and if you did and didn’t mitigate it, you have the good sense of a turnip. He’s an inarticulate shiller: yeah, we heard about the Keep at Blood River Falls. Over and over. And he’s a shameless narcissist. Vic, if no one can defeat your module, then it’s the creator’s fault, not the players. The Tomb of Horrors has been legitimately finished. Anyone can have deus ex machina kill characters. A skilled DM doesn’t.

One of the best 1e podcasts out there and the random encounter for episode 70 was the best one ever.

Found GrogTalk looking for AD&D podcasts and have loved every minute of the first three episodes! Am bingeing them now to catch up and trying to find a way to get to Florida for GrogCon! Dan and James do a great job explaining the feel, tone and ethos of 1e. Makes me feel like I’m back in 1981 playing the best edition of D&D. Keep up the good work!
