Some good topics, completely overpowered by language and style

I was so excited to listen to this podcast and hear discussions about important issues. It was overpowered by how many times they said “like“ and both had so much vocal fry, it GAVE me anxiety because they are giving therapists a reputation of just being valley girls with no confidence or measure in speaking. I understand this is a podcast and they are talking casually—but I was still stunned at the level of the conversation. I don’t imagine this would appeal to anyone except a 20-something white, suburban female. Also, there was a discussion of safety and avoidance behaviors which was so off the mark it bordered on offensive. They describe “safety behaviors,” in such a way as to make one think we ALL demonstrate them—pathologizing normal behavior at best, minimizing clinically significant symptoms at worst. Also, they are lacking in research. If you’re looking for simple conversation, you may like this. If you’re looking for evidence-based information, leave. Disappointed. So much more to say, but I will leave it there.

Muy importante!

This is the podcast to listen to if you’re looking for a couple of real folks talking about the important stuff. They're down to earth and answer questions with clarity and humor. Love it!
