ALL GROWN UP: A tale of retail, relocation, revenge, re-invention, reckless behavior, really good clothes, indiscretion, infidelity, domestic violence, and one kidnapping. This is a memoir, told in a series of podcasts, by Kenneth D. King, podcasting from his studio near union Square in New York City. It's the story of a small-town boy who dreams of being a “grown-up”, and his journey to get there. Each week, you'll hear another installment of his story.

All Grown Up Now is the story of a life, seen through the framework of a friendship. Written like a novel, the story follows two main characters, Ken, and Mark, on a fast-paced romp through the 1980's and early 90's, blazing a path through retail, relocation, revenge, re-invention, reckless behavior, really good clothes, infidelity, domestic violence, kidnapping, and one kidnapping. (Really.)

While it runs from the 1980's to early 90's, this isn't a story that runs in a straight line--the story itself serves somewhat as a string for "beads", episodes which are flashbacks and detours that relate back to the story at hand—the story of how Ken becomes a “grown-up”.

All Grown Up Now: A Friendship in Three acts, available as a printed book, or an eBook, on Amazon.com.

Enjoyable and Enlightening

As Kenneth narrates his stories, I sit back and reflect on my life. Society changes rapidly and thankfully we have progressed.

These podcasts will stay in your thoughts for days after listening to them. Perfect term for them, “thought provoking.”

I enjoy the background sounds, it sets the stage. These podcasts are unique and entertaining, a must listen ❤️.

Funny, sad, true

This is a wonderful podcast telling of a difficult life and redemption in a manner that is funny and touching at the same time. I don’t know whether it’s fact or fiction, but the best fiction is more true than fact, so I don’t care. I look forward to every story.

OMGOSH!

Talk about laugh-out-loud! The podcast is always amusing but ever once in a while, he throws such a turn-of-phrase out that I laugh at loud. Especially when Kenneth is speaking so properly but then slips in a vulgar term.

I grew up at the same time as Kenneth, worked in restaurants and retail, plus I sew. We share many of the same experiences (except for being gay but I did hang around gay clubs in the late 70’s) that makes it more real. Well done, Kenneth D. King!
