Alumni Spotlight #7: Life After Loss & The Art of Ghostwriting with Angie Ransome-Jones OLLI at UNT Podcast
-
- Education
Our seventh Alumni Spotlight episode features author Angie Ransome-Jones. Now a successful ghostwriter with 12 books (and counting) under her belt, Angie didn't initially plan to write for others. "In this case," she tells Susan, "my pain led to my purpose."
When her father passed away, she learned some difficult lessons about the process of putting one's affairs in order. The success of her book chronicling that experience, "Path to Peace: A Guide to Managing Life After Losing a Loved One," opened the door to a new world of writing and consulting opportunities.
Through her roles as Vice President of the UNT Black Alumni Network and chartering member of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women's Dallas chapter, Angie supports initiatives that benefit UNT students and promote the health, education, and economic empowerment of black women and girls. As they conclude their conversation, she describes some of these organizations' current activities to Susan.
