Caregiver Confessions During Cancer Scare Season

Host Charlotte Bayala courageously opens up about the anxiety and tension that comes with cancer scan time in her household. As her husband faces uncertain shifts in his cancer diagnosis, they're navigating the unfamiliar territory of traveling to a different state for medical tests, adding a layer of stress to their lives. Charlotte reflects on how supporting her husband in an unknown environment will inevitably change them, while dealing with the mix of emotions such as worry, anger, and fear.
She discusses the challenging balance between acknowledging these feelings and not letting them overpower her. With self-care as her tool, Charlotte emphasizes the importance of staying present and enjoying the good moments, despite the looming medical appointments. Recognizing the importance of being the best caregiver she can be means being mindful not to exhaust herself before critical moments where her support is needed the most. Charlotte's message is clear: being a caregiver is about acknowledging the tough reality while also finding ways to love your life and allow happiness in, despite the hardships.

Five Star Review

Loved Press Play: The Soundtrack of Life as a Caregiver episode as I have definitely been leaning into my worship playlist as inspiration and hope on the hard days as a busy wife, mother, and caregiver for my epileptic husband and aging father while I am building my coaching business.

Knowing that music is something we need to cope mentally, emotionally and spiritually with the every day stress as a caregiver is resonating even more after this episode!

Sitting with a friend

Every time I listen to Charlotte share her experience on Caregiver Connection, I feel as though I'm sitting on the sofa having a 'tell-it-like-it-is-cuppa-tea' with a dear friend. She is both soothing and direct. I appreciate her candor, her honesty, and her ability to find pockets of joy in the midst of the chaos of being a caregiver. She knows what she is talking about because she lives it. I'm grateful she is willing to share her wisdom with the rest of us!
