Amplify Archaeology Podcast

Welcome to the Amplify Archaeology Podcast. This podcast series seeks to introduce you to some of the key themes and exciting new projects in Irish archaeology. We will feature a series of interviews with a number of Ireland’s archaeologists and experts to gain new insights into life in the past, the key sites, places and periods and the practice of Irish Archaeology. In this series you'll hear news from the trenches of exciting excavations and discussions with experts who answer questions like; where did the first hunter gatherers come from? Who built passage tombs? What did people eat in the past? We'll also discuss the practice of archaeology, to show how we use scientific techniques to reconstruct past environments, how groups can work together on collaborative community projects, and how we tell the story of Ireland through its material culture. The AmplifyArchaeology podcast is presented by Neil Jackman, an archaeologist and director of Abarta Heritage. For more information please visit www.abartaheritage.ie
Fascinating discussions

I’m not an archeologist but I am interested in the places and subjects discussed on this podcast. After listening to one of these podcasts I’m motivated to learn more on the subject and visit the places discussed. The host, Neil Jackman, know the subjects discussed and knows how to lead discussions with the other experts. Listening to these podcasts is time well spent.

This show is so well done with interesting interview and topics covering archeology across Ireland and different time periods. The on-site sound recordings are also excellent. I listened all the way back to episode one and now I wait for each new episode to come out.
Fascinating!

Great to find podcasts about topics you know nothing about. The subjects, interviewer and educators are top notch.
Great way to stay abreast in the field

I did an MA in archaeology at Queen's University Belfast, but now I live in the US and teach high school and college Anthropology. It's been a number of years since University, so I love getting the updates of more recent discoveries and prevailing thoughts in the field of Irish archaeology. (Looking forward to the chance of hearing an old professor or two of mine from QUB as a guest someday!) The guests are among the topmost knowledgeable people in the field who are conducting the best research out there, so if you're interested in Irish archaeology, these are the people to hear from. Thanks!
