We are back with another Artist Spotlight this week with Caton Sollenberger & Scott Ferber of The Jauntee!
In a world filled with instant gratification, gimmicky over saturation and a lack of true improvisation, The Jauntee pays tribute to music’s ability to transcend simple entertainment and cultivate a truly distinctive experience. The Jauntee has fostered a musical community based on a breadth of original material that engages fans through nightly exploration and risk taking. Averaging over one hundred shows a year, with each containing a unique set list and their own special improvisational moments, the band is constantly expanding upon what defines them and their live performances.
We talk with Scott and Caton about:
Coming from the humble beginnings of playing the bar scene to taking the stage at major festivals and bigger and bigger rooms.
What atmosphere they are creating at a Jauntee show for their audience.
How they have honed the skill of navigating the unknown.
What it is that drives them to explore jams that last upwards of 30 minutes or more and what it is that they find inside of those outer spaces.
the way the sound in a particular room can make or break a show for them.
How the decision to not all live together anymore affected them and the music.
