Totally Worthwhile!

This is such a gift! I’ve done a decent amount of learning birdsong myself, but the insights provided by this podcast are super useful. It’s well-produced and the content is thorough. Even when the featured birds aren’t in my area (Florida) I can hear commonalities and differences with the species that we do have here. That also helps to build a bigger birdsong vocabulary and better notice similarities within bird families. The effort put into this podcast is noticeable and undeniable. Thank you for all your hard work!

Great start. Looking forward to more

I’ve been looking for a good podcast with a solid introduction to ear birding for some of my beginner birding friends and this is the first one I’ve found that really works. Beth starts out with Nathan’s Pieplow’s description of sounds that help establish a common language to what we’re hearing. She groups similar sounds birds or bird families together in a way that makes sense. My personal favorite is that she employs a variety of ways to help remember individual birds.

Super helpful!

I am a visual learner, very much struggle with auditory learning. Thanks to Beth I am finally starting to get a small handle on birding by ear, and I’m getting a little better with each episode!
