Train to Busan with Diana Hong

Train to Busan with Diana Hong

In this episode I'm joined by Los Angeles' Diana Hong. I met Diana at Limestone Comedy Festival in 2023 and knew I had to have her on Bloody Mary. Diana picked Train to Busan to discuss which is sure to make me ugly cry every time I watch it. We talked about all the different themes in the movie, our work experiences and Diana's past as a professional golfer. Most of all, given this was the movie picked, we talked about our Dads too. You can check out more about Diana here: https://dhongcomedy.com/

Talk to Me with Derek Sheen

Talk to Me with Derek Sheen

Derek Sheen is a masterful comedian, storyteller, cook, musician- is there nothing he can't do?? We crossed paths a few years ago at Altercation Comedy Festival and this year at the Alaska B4UDie Fest. We did a mini episode for the fest and decided we HAD to do a full length because Derek is a lover of all things horror that comes from a rich family history of horror appreciation. For this episode we dove into Talk to Me. We chatted about peer pressure, grief, addiction and good old fashioned ghost stories. Honestly, nothing would be more terrifying than to become a ghost and spend eternity being a party trick for teenagers. Derek is a delight and you'll love this episode! Lake Mungo with Mishka Schubaly

    Lake Mungo with Mishka Schubaly

In this episode I'm joined by author, musician and all around fun time guy, Mishka Shubaly. We discussed Lake Mungo and how each of the family members dealt with the grief of the death of Alice after her drowning. I pitch Lake Mungo 2--more Mungoier! We also discussed all the weird things in the movie that were just subtly mentioned like: The neighbor is in Alice's room?? They drive backwards home from the lake?? And of course the summation of how moving makes everything better and gives us closure. lol. JK

    House with Natalie Bainter

    House with Natalie Bainter

In this episode I'm joined by Bloomington's own, Natalie Bainter. Natalie is hilarious and I'm so happy we crossed paths at Limestone 2023. We bonded over her Polish family's traditions and sharing stories about our grandfathers. Natalie chose to discuss the 1977 Japanese film House. A classic horror comedy, House lampoons hang ups about marriage, the cat lady and traditional roles for women. Honestly all I should have to say is that there's a scene where the cat plays piano with dancing skeletons.

    Black Phone with Danii Gallegos

    Black Phone with Danii Gallegos

Danii Gallegos, a long time friend and hilarious person I met nearly a decade ago in Chicago comedy took time out from her busy life to chat with me about Black Phone. Written by Steven King's son, Joe Hill this movie gave us a lot to talk about, the stranger danger of the 80's, male friendship and how toxic masculinity hurts men by training them to not express their feelings. I love Danii so much and you will too! Danii is in Los Angeles and currently associated with cool projects like @westilllikeyou and @dreamhouse_usa
