10:14pm – Opening the 2nd hour is one of the people I go to when I need to get the REAL information on commodities status in the industry. No one does it better or has more experience than my friend, Tim Mikeska! One of the topics that has been talked about for the last 6 weeks or so has been what BBQ restaurants are charging for brisket…some at $35/lb or more. Tim will tell us where pricing is present day for both brisket and pork and then we will discuss where the consumer will decide “enough is enough” when it comes to brisket price. There is also a potential development with a group of Texas cattlemen getting together to challenge the “Big 4” and disrupt the pricing that has been seen as a bit of a “fix”.
