    B.O.M. - Episode 0071 - Liver Damage

After a short hibernation, the Bums are back in the rail yard with S2:E0071 (and gusto).   The Primo edition is an NFL, end of season wrap up extravaganza; the Bears have the worst (record) and the first (overall draft pick) - now we wait; Britney sprung from the gulag; welcome Kevin Warren, Bears new prez; Lovie gets hosed (again); Eddie throws down a playoff challenge; Peyton Hillis saves his kids in a drowning incident— and gets touched up; TCU gets blown like a …. well, they got blown out; Absolute Legend and Lunchbox God, Pele, is no more, RIP; World Cup review; befofre ending with a news of Pale Hoser Liam Hendricks’ diagnosis of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.
The Second edition begins with a quick Holiday post mortem, complete with our patented liver damaging regimen due to holiday celebrations and spirits; On the road in FL, Eddie suffers through the world’s worst Bloody Mary ; The State of Illinois sacks ups on gun reform (AR Nazi - “No assault weapons for you!!”); early 2023 RIP Notables — the wives tale “deaths come in threes” and a trend (Lisa Marie Presley, Charles White and Jeff Beck) - can you spot the trend?; Jeremey Renner added to health watch due to snowcat induced injuries; and Paddy close like a hurricane with a USMNT expose highlighting the soccer parent poison.  All of this and quite possibly more ramblings than you can stomach.

B.O.M. - Episode 0072 - Thanks For Watching Our Toddlers

B.O.M. - Episode 0072 - Thanks For Watching Our Toddlers

The Bums return with S3:E0072 as the front chapter begins with Rocky recapping the B.O.M. podcast for 2022, by the numbers; the road to the Super Bowl narrows with an overview of the NFL Divisional Playoff series; Eddie tallies up the Bums playoff challenge with Rocky clinging to a razor slim lead heading into Conference championship weekend; Good guy J.J. Watt hangs up his cleats with clear line of sight of the HOF; spring MLB season is creeping up on us; legendary shot caller Pat Hughes wins a Ford Frick award; the Bums are unaminously unimpressed with HOF nominees Crime Dog and Scott Rolen (who?); the pale hose brass were sold damaged goods as defective pitcher Steve Cleving wins scumbag of the week honors; wife slapper Dana White extends his brand of white trash sports with SLAP, and the Bums are none too impressed; and Part 1 closes with Detroit’s losing record.
The rear chapter cracks off with a double review of beer and booze; McD comes through with another creation from New England’s Trillium Brewing with Aerial Roots, a Corn India Pale Ale (7% ABV) — with a sweet nose and a bitter finish; and Paddy splurges Irish style with an 18-year old Jameson whiskey that is smoother than seal shit on a glacier — with caramel and vanilla flavors and zero burn; the Bums bid adieu to WXRT radio legend Lin Brehmer who lost his fight with cancer (RIP); Eddie asks tough questions around gun control in schools (not for the faint of heart); serial toddler NFH loses his sole-source phone during a field trip to the House of Blues in Chicago; Eddie sees a Deadhead sticker on a Cadillac (well, kinda); and Paddy lets his GMC Acadia go into the cold dark night after more than a decade of faithful service.  All of this and foul language to last a lifetime.

    B.O.M. - Episode 0043 - The Culling

    B.O.M. - Episode 0043 - The Culling

The Bums are back in action after a 1-month+ reprieve from hilarity and expansive knowledge of useless information.  The front half kicks off with a smorgasbord of NFL updates, starting with the hapless Chicago Bears and running the gauntlet of Black Monday vacancies across the league; the Bums bid adieu to Bears former HC Matt “Zero Self-Awareness” Nagy, and former GM Ryan “Shitty Fucking Deal” Pace —the culling; the dismissed Head Coaching quotient and Over/Under; a walk down the NFL’s Wildcard Weekend agenda; Eddie & Rocky are reunited with a few obnoxious AF Kansas City Chief fans at one of our favorite watering holes; a debriefing from the NCAA Football National Championship game; Nick Saban may (and I repeat, may) have an actual soul; Big Jon Lester retires; before the Bums end the 1st Half with a speed round of sports celebrities “en agua caliente” (Clinton Portis, L.T.) and ring in the New Year with the first of two beer reviews — starting with a mash-up between Trillium Brewing and Dog Fish Head Brewing called Tru-Action, a Citra Mosaic IPA that measures in at 6.5% ABV (thanks McD).
The second half begins with a post-mortem salute to an impressive list of personalities who left our scorched earth (including Dan Reeves, Sam Jones, Harry Reid, Betty White, Bob Sagat, and the beloved John Madden); the Bums toast to the dearly departed with Tree House Brewing Co.’s ‘Old Hat’ American Amber Lager ( ABV 5.4%) as our medium thanks to Rocky’s favorite BIL (Boston Dough); the Bums compare notes on Holiday trips, activities (from Austin to Cancun); Paddy reviews his all-inclusive experience, and the Bum’s close as Rocky stumps on his favorite non-fiction reading material (“A People’s History of the United States” by Howard Zinn), which is compulsory reading for Americans and those seeking to understand America.
Culling /ˈkəliNG/ (noun) — the action of sending an inferior or surplus farm animal to be slaughtered.

    B.O.M. - Episode 0044 - Fucking Bots

    B.O.M. - Episode 0044 - Fucking Bots

The Bums are back in action for Episode 0044 —with another double beer review featuring two delicious creations from our favorite Boston-area brewers!  The first half is chock full of NFL Wildcard Weekend goings-on, as the Cincy Bengals get their first playoff victory since the H.W. Busch administration; the N.E. Pats get curb stomped by the surging Buffalo Bills; the hapless Philly Eagles are who we thought they are; the Dallas Cowboys throw up all over themselves; Big Ben Rapeless-berger hangs up his cleats amongst the media’s convenient amnesia; Kyler Murray makes NFL playoff history (not in a good way); and Bruce Arians’ quote around Tom “Never Retiring” Brady, before talk pivots to the Divisional Playoff round with picks and sticks; the Bums extensively cover the 2022 Winter Olympics (yawn, ok, not really) before talk turns very dark around the end of MLB baseball as we know it (stupid fucking bots). The bright spot comes at the hands of TreeHouse Brewing’s ‘Julius’ Hazy IPA (8.8% ABV) courtesy of Boston Dough.
The second half kicks off with a preview of Rocky’s upcoming “Shiver on the River” cold weather fishing trip on the Pere Marquette river in  Michigan; the Bums beer review bis covers Trillium Brewing’s interesting ‘Dialed-in’ courtesy of the Magnanimous McD, a double IPA brewed with Pinot Grigot grape juice (8.5% ABV); the Bums bid adieu to Chicago radio legend Les Grobstein and a tape recorder story for the ages; talk turns to the great L.A. Train Robberies (modern era version), Bitch McConnell reveals his true self, and a big settlement comes in Ann Arbor MI due to systemic corruption, as Paddy passionately reviews the NCAA’s despicable behavior (and the absence of criminal charges) as Episode 0044 ends with a charge.

    B.O.M. - Episode 0045 - Bat Into Hell

    B.O.M. - Episode 0045 - Bat Into Hell

The top of Episode 0045 begins with the Bums diving into the NFL Job Search Sweepstakes, as the McCaskey’s announce the first non-white executive to grace Halas Hall in Ryan Poles; head coaching options are bantered about, and NFL Playoff mania continues with what could be the greatest Divisional playoff weekend ever (yeah, we said it); the Bums conduct another beer review with another winner from Charlton, Massachusetts’ own TreeHouse Brewing with ‘Trail’, a super crisp and heady German pilsner (ABV 5.2%); as talk turns to the NBA edition of Scum-Bag-of-the-Week with bad intentions courtesy of Grayson Allen; a very unhappy NCAA homecoming for now redundant head coach Chris Mack, and MLB HOF voting nominees are covered Bums style.
The bottom half starts with a redacted ‘In Memoriam’ segment as the Bums bid farewell to Meat “I’d do anything for love, but I won’t get vaxxed” Loaf, comic Louie Anderson, as well as the voice of Charlie Brown, Peter Robbins; thoughts from Rocky on bluetooth enabled mood rings; Spotify’s cage match between Joe Rogan and Neil Young; Eddie completes the train wreck that is HBO’s ‘Succession’ franchise, as the Bums wrap it up with a review of ‘Bad Sports’, a new Netflix docu-series.

    B.O.M. - Episode 0046 - Shiver on the River

    B.O.M. - Episode 0046 - Shiver on the River

The Bums are back for Episode 0046 after Rocky’s back-to-back boondoggle (WI and MI respectively); the stage is set, the t-shirts are printed, the banners are hung, the ladies of the evening are called — it’s Super Bowl preview time; a breeze by of who Bears GM, Ryan Poles, picks for his field generals; Tom F. Brady puts his legacy out to pasture (with or without cow pies, you decide); the NFL head coaching hiring circuit is white hot (whiter than Lovie Smith’s beard); The Washington Football Team’s new moniker sucks a bag of you know whats; Rocky Wirtz is defiant in his corruption and despicable behavior, as the BlackEyeHawks remain in the penalty box; NCCA hijinks ensue; former NFL lineman Greg Robinson had better call Saul; before the bums close with a discussion around how NBA Celtic Enis Freedom Kantor gets Kaepernicked.
The back nine kicks off with another infamous beer review, with a look see into ‘Hexe Vibraniyum’ (ABV 6%) from Chicago’s own Empirical Brewing, a coffee forward brown ale with some pleasant surprises;  the bums bid WKR.I.P. to Howard Hesseman, aka as Dr. Johnny Fever from the popular 70s/80s sitcom; things get dark AF as Paddy recounts the shocking carnage in the wake of USC’s Dr. Geroge Tyndall systemic abuse; Rocky reviews Kohler, WI’s American Club and Kohler Spa (and discovers an absolute gem in Trattoria Stefano — upscale Southern Italian in nearby Sheboygan, WI) and also recounts the majesty that is the Pere Marquette river in the dead of winter, aka ‘The Shiver on the River’; before the bums close with a discussion around the responsibility of media giants.
