Business Rundown: How Did Eggs Get So Expensive?

Last month marked a record high for the average price of eggs in the United States, the cost on average as high as $8 for a dozen.

The USDA warns prices will continue rising in 2025, as major retailers like Kroger and Trader Joe’s move to limit the number of egg cartons that shopper can buy.
