Cabin Tales

SUMMARY: Similar to R.L. Stine’s Crypt Keeper host, a dark entity serves as tale for these harrowing anthology tales. The stories are gripping and usually end just as circumstances go from bad to worse, leaving our imaginations to fill in the rest. These tales serve as mementos of the dead, and the strange happenings that occurred to end their lives, be it a deranged killer, an apocalyptic event, the personification of grief, or an old god. SOUND DESIGN: Theme music eerie with slightly discordant notes, but well done. Sound mixing is balanced with good dynamic range for all the screaming—loud but appropriate. ACTING: The tale master has the perfect Halloween voice with a wicked laugh. The actors have a penchant for playing psychotic characters and do it aggressively in the way that is suitable for the character. AUDIENCE: Cabin Tales is for someone who wants to be spooked and relishes dread, danger and desolation. Who likes characters who can populate asylums, but who also likes variety. I would say the tales are on the scary side of eerie, and are full of adrenaline rush moments.

Such a talented voice cast, amazing world building, immersive story telling. Can’t recommend this enough.

I listened to every ep in two days after finding this podcast. I’m bummed it didn’t go past two seasons but it is superior to all other horror podcasts. Fantastic all around. Voice talent is stellar.
