Personal Growth

I absolutely love Michael’s podcast. I’m always in awe with regard to how Michael takes only 10 minutes or less to make such a powerful impact on my day.

On a slightly different note, I’m hoping we can do away with the term self-help…it has such a negative connotation of weakness. I much prefer the term Personal Growth as it’s much more accurate because we’re always striving to learn, grow and evolve. We are essentially in search of meaning, purpose and understanding…brave adventurers indeed.

Back on Course

There comes a point, at least for me anyway, where the journey of self help becomes entrenched in the notion that I’m broken and need to be fixed. In addition, there’s “another level” or as some say, another layer of the onion skin to peel away. For me, the idea of self help as a lifestyle through the above mentioned lenses, became exhausting. Realizing that I was spinning my wheels in the idea that something has to be fixed all the time, I quit all manner of self help, growth, spiritual healing…etc. in fact, I began to scoff at all of it. One problem with quitting I didn’t anticipate: my life would become stagnant and indeed it has. I mean, Up until I stumbled upon this podcast, I felt as though I was a ship that was in a storm and then suddenly, I was in dead calm “ions”. Drifting aimlessly in an ocean of existential poly styrene. Then along comes a trade wind; this podcast. Not only are the sails filling, there’s a magical compass provided in these wonderful weekly themed talks. I’m back on course! This time the journey isn’t about trauma drama, it’s intentional and not. My mind is a sextant but the stars of possibility keep moving. Currents change, as do winds. Ships leak too. “Oh well!” Just keep sailing and enjoy every part of the journey! Thank you so much for these talks, sir. So powerful and meaningful. Much appreciated.
