All the right people hate this show

“They’re tankies!” or “they’re liberals!” or “they’re secret right wingers/racists!”

A nihilistic but clear-eyed view

Not much to offer in the way of solutions, but that’s the world we live in as oligarchies are becoming monopolies and we approach the singularity of capitalism. At least these guys find some humor in it all. Dim-witteds will say this podcast is a played out trope of nihilist masculine, leftist politics.. but I’d love to find out where else this is actually being played out. Everywhere else I look is full of cosmopolitan, bourgeois neoliberalism. Keep up the struggle.

Fulfills a need

There are times when Chapo is absolutely vital; they give voice to leftist anger/resentment in the face of cloying liberalism, and there are moments when their insights are absolutely brilliant. However, their often-hypermasculine hipsterdom and lack of vulnerability comes at a cost, often in the form of a lack of nuance and absence of serious engagement with the grassroots. Despite this, I still tune in sometimes, particularly when the Democratic Party leadership is at its most disappointing.
