Chiseled and Called
Have you ever walked through trial after trial questioning how much more you can endure? Have you ever doubted how in the world God would call you to something with your broken past lurking around every corner? Have you ever just doubted God? Well sis, this might be the podcast for you. The Bible tells us that the storms of life are inevitable in this lifetime. I’ll dare to say that when you jump into the deep end with Jesus, that’s actually where the waters get rough. But the storm set out to drown you is the very storm that God will use to refine, chisel, and call you. In the Chiseled and Called podcast, Brittany Dawn is authentically raw about her walk with the Lord as she shares past struggles, biggest failures, and current uphill battles. This is a space where all are welcome and no story is too far past the point of redemption. Hey girl! I’m Brittany Dawn. A born and raised Texan, wife, foster mom, and founder of She Lives Freed. In 2019, I had a radical, unexplainable incomprehensible encounter with Jesus that would forever change my life. Since that night, no aspect of my life has looked the same. Since that pivotal moment four years ago, I have walked through excruciating seasons of pruning. I’ve lost everything and everyone, I’ve navigated divorce, walked through the flames of cancel culture, faced hardship, and found myself broken amidst heartbreak. Yet through every high and low, I can confidently say that my constant has been Jesus. That my constant always will be Jesus. And I’m here to encourage you that at the end of it all, if all you have is Him, He is all you need. I joke with friends that I skip the surface level talk and dive right in to the deep conversations over a cup of coffee… but truthfully, that’s what I’m here to do. And through it all, point your focus right back to the King. Think of each episode as a big sister talk. I’m here through your worst day, tilting your chin up towards the King and reminding you that you can, in fact, continue on. I’m here to point you to scripture that speaks truth when your circumstances shout otherwise. I’m here to remind you that your past is not too broken and you’re not too far gone. Saddened to leave this review

I have enjoyed Brittany’s content over the passed two years, but unfortunately I am choosing to unfollow now. Through their adoption journey they have chosen to use incredibly offensive terms such as “children of our own” and “failed adoption”, and calling a woman a “birth mother” before she signs relinquishment papers. To people actively in the adoption community (myself being an adoptee and writer for adoption.com), these terms are not okay. I have tried to reach out with my concerns, but my comments always get deleted. Jordan & Brittany seem unwilling to learn about adoption from people with real life experience, and this is concerning for any future children they welcome into their home. I truly believe their hearts are in the right place, but they seriously need some proper adoption training before going full steam ahead in the adoption process. I really hope this review comes across their radar, and they they earnestly seek wise counsel (proverbs 1:5) (adoptees, birth moms, and veteran adoptive parents). I have recommended the podcast “ADOPTION NOW” hosted by April Fallon, an adoptive mom x 4. “Who am I really?” Hosted by Damon Davis, adoptee and adoptive dad x 2, and “birth mothers amplified” hosted by two birth moms. I have also recommended they read “the primal wound” by Nancy Verrier, an adoptive mother. And that they seek out articles on adoption.com. For example an article I wrote from the perspective of an adoptee all grown up, “adoption language matters”. It’s all about how my adoptive parents used the CORRECT language when raising me, and how others used harmful terms that effected me negatively as a child. This gathered nest, a set of Christian parents who have adopted 6 children, are a fantastic resource on YouTube. As well as Phil & Alex Congelliere, another Christian family on YouTube who have adopted two girls. As someone who is employed for the purpose of educating hopeful adoptive families, I can no longer listen to their hurtful adoption language and not be heard when I speak. I pray God opens the eyes of Brittany and Jordan to all the many resources from the adoption triad, making their future adoption a healthy one for them, their future child, and that child’s biological mother.

Love this podcast. I try to listen to so many “christian” podcasts but always end up feeling convicted. I have not felt convicted which says something. Also some of these reviews make no sense to me. I believe she is speaking on things people just don’t want to hear because it interferes with their 1 foot in the world. Keep up the good work!!
Thank u so much

I just don’t understand these reviews. They make absolutely no sense. I’ve listened to everyone of your podcast and watched all your content. Brittany, thank you so much for speaking out, being so truthful, raw, and not fake. This podcast has really encouraged me and made me feel not alone in the struggles in life. It’s actually hilarious to read the mean reviews, of people calling you a clown. They have nothing better to do to say you are harmful to society when they’re sitting on the couch or in their mothers basement cyber bullying others. you are trying to prevent and stop cyber bullying, help, homeless people, and show kindness, etc, etc. You are amazing. Don’t stop what you were doing and just remember that Jesus was absolutely hated enough to be crucified. He was hated even though he was called by God and he was the messiah.

Made with science that you frown upon. This poor soul will just be a little accessory for you to put on full display for clicks and likes. Hope it doesn’t work out and you don’t ever see your baby. Sorry, but you deserve nothing.
