Communication is Key Holistic Healers

    • Health & Fitness

So, we have all heard that communication is key to a healthy relationship. But what does that mean? And what does that look like? Often, we think we are communicating well but, in actuality, we are not in touch with our needs or our partner’s needs. We come across as defensive and it feels like our partner isn’t listening to us. Because of this, we start to have unnecessary arguments and it becomes two partners pinned against each other instead of them fighting the problem together. We also know that communication is a huge barrier in ourselves! The worse we communicate with ourselves, the worse we will see and feel and even change how we perceive the world!

So today, I invited on Dr. April Givens who is a leading Dallas psychotherapist, author, inspirational speaker, practice owner, and clinical supervisor. For 12 years, she has been making her mark in the mental health field and the business world with her "REAL" communication style and proven strategies and techniques that make her stand out among the rest. In her clinical work, she provides individual therapy for teens, couples, and adults under her practice and has been featured in several different articles and podcasts, and has written her own book!
