    Stefanie Lamoureux is an Advanced Practice Nurse Educator (APNE) at the University Health Network, and Course Coordinator and Course Instructor for the Michener Institute's Critical Care and Acute Care Nursing Program.

    In this episode, Stephanie discusses her day in the life, why she pursed nursing, the influence her nursing professor had on her career, the evolution of the Critical Care Nursing program at Michener and what differentiates it from other programs, as well as her workshop at this year's Convergence Conference.

    Phil Jacobs is a musician and Integrative Vibrational Practitioner, and the founder of Toronto Sound Therapy. In this episode, Phil discusses his life, the events that led to his interest in music, traditional Chinese medicine, meditation, and how he uses vibration and sound healing to aid those suffering from trauma and mental health concerns. Phil will also be leading a special presentation on Day 2 of The Convergence Conference.

    Join us for our conversation with Karlos Enrrique Sun.
    Karlos is an advanced practice nurse educator at the University Health Network, overseeing the Multi Organ Transplant, General Medicine and Cardiology units at Toronto General Hospital.

    Karlos has completed a Master of Nursing degree with a focus on leadership and education from Toronto Metropolitan University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from York University. Karlos also has certifications in Critical Care and Critical Care Nursing (Adults).

    Karlos has years of clinical teaching experience, having fufilled the role of a clinical nursing faculty and clinical course lead at Centennial College. In addition, he has taught laboratories, simulations, and online lectures for the Practical Nursing (PN) and Personal Support Worker (PSW) programs at Centennial College. Karlos also has experience facilitating Critical Care Programs for Michener and Sunnybrook.

    Karlos has a professional interest in the use of simulation in nursing education, gamification of learning, best practice guidelines, and scholarship of teaching and learning methodologies.

    In this second episode of our conversation with Eden Dales, we go in-depth on trauma informed care, the relationship between stress and trauma, understanding the importance of a trauma informed approach, creating healthy boundaries, and crisis intervention.

    We also hear about Eden's own personal philosophy to life and work, and her upcoming work with COSTI Immigrant Services, where she will become an educator for their new gender-based violence project.

    Eden Dales Part 1

    Eden Dales, MSW RSW, is a registered social worker, registered with The Ontario College of Social
    Workers and Social Service Workers (reg # 806569), and a member of The Ontario Association of
    Social Workers. Eden received her master’s degree in Social Work from Yeshiva University in New York
    City and commenced her career supporting clients in the emergency departments during 9/11 in NYC.
    Eden has almost twenty years of clinical experience in the field of social work, with expertise in trauma
    recovery. Eden is the owner and director of Eden Dales Social Work (EDSW), a community based social
    work practice, and Eden also has a private counselling practice in North York.

    Part 1 of this episode Eden outlines her experiences as a new health professional in the midst of the 9/11 NYC terrorist attack.
