There's more to black history than MLK. In order to celebrate and pay homage to various cultures, histories and traditions we must do the research and plan ahead. Recognize various accomplishments, consult with multiple sources and encourage the exploration and sharing of all heritages and backgrounds. Its time to change the narrative of undocumented immigrants in America. Today we sit with, DACA advocate and Dreamer, Astou Thiane. The purpose of DACA and the DREAM act is to protect eligible immigrant youth who came to the United States when they were children from deportation. We are grateful for Astou's willingness to share her story and for teaching us how we can all be better advocates for DACA and undocumented immigrants in this country. Every January we try to set resolutions in hopes of following them through. This year, we are doing away with the New Years resolution and approaching 2020 with realistic methods for accomplishing our goals.
