Each episode of Counter Programming will focus on a "counter" of some sort. Check back in our episode archives for hours and hours of counter programming content.

Thank you to Margot for lending your voice for the intro! You can do the same. Record a voice note saying, "Hi, i'm (your name), and you're listening to Counter Programming with Shira & Arielle." Then send it to us: counterprogrammingshiraarielle@gmail.com.

Gerrymandering: to manipulate the boundaries of (an electoral constituency) so as to favor one party or class. Further: gerrymandering is a practice meant to create an unfair political advantage for a particular party or other such group by manipulating district boundaries.
In the United States, a county is an administrative or political subdivision of a state that consists of a geographic region with specific boundaries and usually some level of governmental authority. The term "county" is used in 48 U.S. states, except Louisiana and Alaska (who have functionally equivalent subdivisions called parishes and boroughs).
