    CSP 067: Transgender Discrimination in CSD Programs

    You may remember Dr. Charles Lenell (pronouns: they/them) from episode 49 (The Doctoral  Shortage). Dr. Lenell is back to discuss an online petition they filed with change.org. The gist of the petition: LGBTQ students at some colleges and universities face discrimination due to a loophole afforded by 'religious exemption.' The petition asks for transparency so potential students can better decide which programs will meet their needs. Essential to this conversation is an understanding of the role of the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) as well as what protections Title IX provides in theory and practice.     Every therapist I've ever met has dealt with feelings of burnout from time to time. From productivity pressures to feelings of imposter syndrome, we all struggle to make sense of it all as the years of practice fade into the background. We must regularly take stock of our own emotions and beliefs to prevent the big "B." Danielle Stoller is a physical therapist who did experience burnout. The subject of today's episode is how she dealt with that hopelessness and found answers to re-establish her passion and drive for her patients.
