In Game Analytics and Decision Making - Rob Everett, Analyst, Miami Dolphins

Rob Everett, now an analyst for the Miami Dolphins, joined me to co-host a series in which we focused on technology in football. In this episode, we focus on enhancing game strategy and discussing key moments in a game that determine success. We explore the need for structured processes and effective communication to capitalize on player strengths and avoid missed opportunities. Rob shares methodologies for enabling reflective pauses for players and coaches, and we analyze actionable systems that evolve from simple tools to advanced analytics for real-time decision-making. We recorded this episode when Coach Everett was with the Alliance of American Football spring league.  When I met Rob he was a high school defensive coordinator.  He then became the defensive coordinator at Bridgewater College from 2016-2018. Following his stint in the AAF, he joined the University of North Carolina staff as the senior offensive analyst under offensive coordinator Phil Longo at North Carolina., and then moved with Longo to Wisconsin. He’s in his first season as an analyst for the Miami Dolphins.  Coach Everett’s path to the NFL was created by his expertise in technology and analytics. With the Dolphins, he utilizes Modern Football Technology in practice.  We will get Coach Everett back on the podcast in the future.   Chapters Analyzing Game Day Processes Utilizing Technology Effectively Communication Between Coaches Importance of Practice Situations Creating Game-Like Environments Thank you for supporting our partners: Learn More about Modern Football Technology Battle-tested, Modern Football’s platform provides real-time self-scout and opponent tendencies while eliminating manual tagging into HUDL, DV Sport, and XOS.
