Podcast Hiatus Update + SXSW EDU Talk with Armel Talla

Yo! What is up everyone, it has been a MINUTE since we released an episode! A couple of updates below:

    1. This is a different type of episode as this is a talk that Justin Nguyen (your host) and Armel Talla did at SXSW EDU earlier this year. It's all about the student perspective and how higher educational institutions can work on engaging their students using social media.

    2. We are looking for a new host of the podcast! No real requirements other than being a people person and you're currently in college! If you're interested, please email Justin at justin@declassifiedmedia.co (Don't worry, we handle all of the editing!)

    3. We are looking to expand Declassified Media's social media presence with the launch of 2 more pages. @declassifiedcompsci and @declassifiedfinance. If you're interested, please email Justin at justin@declassifiedmedia.co

There aren't any requirements to the pages other than being technical major (for @declassifiedcompsci) and a finance major (@declassifiedfinance) and being a people person who is open to being on camera! This would be a trial period and if you're a fit with the team a paid position to be a content creator! (Don't worry, we would handle all of the editing!)

As we get older hopefully we make more money, but what is definitely sure is that we spend more money. So how do you know when you are spending too much?

We got to hear from 3 students about how they got their spending habits back on track after spending way too much money at the beginning of college:

Trey Dewitt - student at Texas State University, Youtuber

Victoria McNally - Texas A&M Student, Youtuber

Check out our job board with 60+ jobs!

Being a student is one of the hardest things to do and one of the toughest parts about being a student is having the "pressure to succeed" pushed on you by parents, friends, family, and others.

Thats why in this episode, we brought on all of these students to talk about how they handle the pressure while in school:

Dayo Olabode - a recent graduate of Texas Tech University

Henry - recent grad of Erasmus University in the Netherlands

Maria - recent grad of UNTG, technical recruiter for Tech Systems

Stephanie - incoming CS major at UC Berkeley

Milind Khurana - Law student at the University of Miami and intern at AT&T. Here is a link to his Ted Talk.

Great for Students!

I found this podcast at the beginning of the year, and it has been very informative in helping me learn all things finance!

Recommend!

This podcast is really informative and teaches real life skills that they don’t teach you in school like finances and networking. This makes me feel educated and confident when I will need to use this in the real world.
