There are pieces of the past overlooked in polite society. And that is not because these histories are unimportant, but because they are unpleasant, vulgar, violent, seemingly irrational, shamelessly sexual, or otherwise beneath standards of taste. This is the history you wished they taught in school but don't—the extremes of human behavior and experience. These are the stories of the dispossessed, the criminals, the hapless victims, and the callous perpetrators through whom we see some of the most base aspects of our shared humanity. It's an exploration of those things that make us uncomfortable—it's Dirty History.

So interesting, only mildly disturbing

I love this show! The stories are informative, often hilarious, and always a little macabre. Highly recommend!

This Podcast! This Host!

Impressive, fun, and hilarious. Tommy is producing awesome stories of history from around the world. I love his solo narrative style that makes you feel like you are the only one he is talking to. He’s not afraid to call it like he sees it, which adds a well placed layer of sarcasm. He’s confident without the arrogance and his voice was made for podcasting. The best part, very well researched, factual episodes that are short, yet jammed packed with the best and worst of the human condition. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
