    Football wise in England there were Wembley wins for Wimbledon and and Luton Town. Gazza transferred for £2m and England lost every game at Euro 1988. Marco Van Basten wins it for the Netherlands, with one of the best goals ever.

    In the news things were bad, with the Piper Alpha oil rig disaster and also the Lockerbie bombing

    Big Lou was working in a bar, Roland went off to America to work on a Kids summer camp
