Dr. Hallerman is an attorney and member of the New York State Bar Association. She found success in the entertainment industry as partner and head of the talent department at United Talent Agency, later becoming the top talent agent and partner at William Morris Endeavor - representing the best of Hollywood's elite. Dr. Hallermen launched Recovery Management Agency (RMA) in 2011, and it is the first-ever recovery management program of its kind. RMA is a consulting company providing clients with a team of managers to help them navigate their journey toward healing and recovery.

Having been sober for years, Dr. Hallerman realized her lifestyle was making her sick - though she had freed her addiction to substances, she had not freed her soul. After years of trauma and substance abuse, she had only covered up the wounds, rather than truly healing them from within.

So, in her 40s, Elisa went back to school, taking classes in drug and alcohol counseling at the University of California, Los Angeles, in 2010. She now holds a master’s and doctorate from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Depth Psychology and Somatic Studies, focusing on neuroscience and trauma. Dr. Hallerman is also a drug and alcohol counselor, and certified in yogic science for addictive behavior. In addition, she is a member of the Institute for Functional Medicine.

Dr. Elisa Hallerman's first novel SOULBRIETY: Heal Your Trauma, Overcome Addiction, and Reconnect with Your Soul, is a prescriptive memoir on overcoming drug and alcohol addiction, PTSD and chronic trauma. SOULBRIETY explores how to recognize adverse childhood experiences and trauma, which if unhealed - are often at the core of most adult addiction and alcoholism - and touches on timely topics such as the traumatic events facing us every day: from a pandemic, mass shootings, political injustices, war, and terrorism.

As 2022 comes to a close, it appears a new breed of health-conscious sub-species has reared its head for all to see.

Egotism and vanity have been attributed to the practice of fitness and physical health, but it has been retorted as unnecessary bias from a crowd, who may not have all its ducks together in the first place.

And the Us vs. Them-thought process was any different maybe?

Here’s something to chew on why fitness is more advantageous than perilous unless you’re a completely reprehensible glutton:

    Fitness saves lives

    Fitness saves mental health

    Fitness renews marriages

The list could go on, however, to solidify these points and to provide more, we called in Kiola Raines to the show this week.

Kiola has an extensive portfolio from certified nutrition coach to being a Peer Support Specialist.

She has worked in many facets of the fitness industry and has used this knowledge to inject some positive physical education into the recovery community.

She joins us on DIS Live to tell her story and to shed some much-needed light and details on how physical activity above physicality is how the ‘twain is to be met.
Happy New Year 2023! We hope you enjoyed this episode full of great knowledge and we thank you for listening!

EP34 "Bling Empire" Star Kevin Kreider Talks About Reinvention, Sobriety, Identity and Sans! You don't want to miss this great episode!

EP34 "Bling Empire" Star Kevin Kreider Talks About Reinvention, Sobriety, Identity and Sans! You don't want to miss this great episode!

Reinvention: Identity, Sobriety and The Wheel with Kevin Kreider @kevin.kreider

Broadcast journalist and pioneer of BBC’s HardTalk Chris Sackur once made the astute observation that artistic types are confined to a single label, as it is more convenient to survey the skill of an artist to the public, but . . . Art doesn’t have limits, only small minds do as is paraphrased by Stanislavski.

On this show and many subject programs, pay attention long enough and you’ll notice that seekers and advocates of Recovery have a strong creative streak that spans mediums by the dozen and as such have ventured to create their own content to purvey their skills.
    . . . . . This show is a primo example.

Commerce, meanwhile, at the same time has been a tricky shadow subject and to this day has kept advocates on their toes where Recovery is concerned - “How in the world could you charge something you can get for free?” comes the one statement, whilst “Recovery is NEVER FREE!” also has been heard for a foolish retort.

Art and commerce are uncommon bedfellows as are Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny, but the heart is what separates the boys from the men. Taking a stand when the deck is stacked high and breaking the mold.

Kevin Kreider is the second coming to reinvent this wheel.

Kevin has an extensive portfolio spanning the arts, business, and motivational speaking to name but a few. He has been featured extensively on multimedia with his endeavors to break cultural stereotypes (much like his predecessor, the legendary James Hong) in Television and Film and is featured on the popular unscripted series on Netflix “Bling Empire”.

As a further testament to his versatility, Kevin used his experience and created a new opportunity with his new ready-to-drink zero-proof cocktail, Sans.
He joins DIS Live to chat about his journey and the path he molded for himself to highlight cultural and career diversity.

Rami Matan "Kosha Dillz" from MTV's Wild N Out - Rhyme to Rhyme Beat to Beat of Recovery , Running Marathons, Rapping, Fighting Anti Semitism and Dissing Kanye West!

Rhyme to Rhyme, Beat to Beat of Recovery with Rami Matan

Words of metered rhyme has been a pastime to get outage of inner - conflict or reflect

Like with beat poetry, words have the propensity to make the audiences cry, think, become enraged and hopefully not kill anyone . . . There’s no such thing as justifiable homicide.

Words also have the ability to give hope. The best thing about sobriety is words are made concrete with action . . . . . Or beats as the case May be.

This is why Rami Matan puts words to paper and makes them into beats. His heartbeat is moving on. His words are . . . There is hope and a future.

He’s here to talk about his story, his love of rap and combining humor with his beats to create another outlet for people to find courage . . . Without Dutch courage.

    Rami is on instagram @koshadillz

EP30 Jarrod Collier: Step Out of the Box - Addiction vs The Big 🌏

EP30 Jarrod Collier: Step Out of the Box - Addiction vs The Big 🌏

Hosted by Daniella Park and Chris Nell. Be part of the show https://f.chat/psXg
Every given moment involves change. It’s an uncomfortable phase, but the meddle of every given human being is forged in fire - integration or evolution. What works for you and what doesn’t? In a dysfunctional society and sobriety, a clear blueprint is never provided, which is why mentorship is almost a compulsory given. On the opposite end of the coin, continuous independent study is a faithfully enriching tool. The best part is it is going from failure to failure with unfinished enthusiasm, to quote late Prime Minister Winston Churchill, while also embracing change. This is the independent study that Jarrod Collier embraces fully.
Jarrod has enjoyed recent success as founder of the initiative Strength In Time and his podcast, entitled Redeem Yourself. During his visit to DIS Live, he chats on his path to recovery, some lessons he purveyed, and how exactly to go about to Step Out The Box.
