Dreaming in Color
The equitable future we seek requires celebrating the genius of today’s leaders of color. In Dreaming in Color, hear from champions in the charge for equity and justice. Hosted by Darren Isom, a partner in the The Bridgespan Group’s San Francisco office, this podcast offers leaders of color space to share how they have leveraged their unique assets and abilities to embrace excellence, drive impact, and more fully define what success looks like. Grounded in both his New Orleans roots and his experience as a queer Black leader in the social sector, Darren invites listeners into the candid kitchen table conversations that have long helped shape the journeys of BIPOC leaders. Together, we embrace these leaders’ ingenuity, learn from their wisdom and wit, reflect on their words with authenticity and humor, and listen as we think of how we can collectively strive to do and be better. This is Dreaming in Color.

I’ve just listened to the last three podcast sessions narrated by Brother Darren Isom- so I’m all caught up now! Can I just say . . . The show , narration , guests, music and format are all innovative , inspiring and genius. I love 💕 the way the host uses proficient and carefully chosen French and English words to describe systems of discrimination and an insider view in the philanthropic world ( I often take notes). How delightful it is to hear Brother Darren often reference his notable ancestral lineage by weaving his family stories into his themed sessions with guests like an exquisite bowl of New Orleans Gumbo! Brother Darren’s voice is very reassuringly soothing to listen to and I marvel as he gently keeps his accomplished guests on topic and brings out the essence of who they are in relationship to the session. The format and time of the podcast is just long enough for the listener to efficiently comprehend the subject without feeling inept. No matter how dismal the outlook may be ~ the podcast never ends without a message of hope and upliftment for humanity. My favorite parts of this 35 minute podcast are the invocation to open and the epilogue to close the show! Such a wonderful homage to the Southern Black roots traditions. I hope this podcast is inshrined as a Cd/DVD set- Or even live recorded video sessions!?! This preeminent podcast reminds me of Nikki Giovanni’s LP series of poems ( backed by a chior) in the 70s We have to preserve these stories ~ please 😊 Amen 🙏🏾 Ashe 🙏🏾 Encore 🙌🏾
