Absolutely love your podcast - it's the highlight of my days. Listening to the episodes from 1/9/25 and I think a demographic that Derek Thompson missed in his analysis of the shift toward Trump in big cities is the Jewish vote. I live in an area with a very large Hasidic population who vote in blocks and historically voted democratic. Because of the conflict and Harris being show as sympathetic to Palestine they did a compete reversal and were all In for Trump. So much as asking for Trump stamps the post office one day. It was all part of the perfect storm that hopefully our democracy will survive. Thank you for all your hard work Tim and I'm counting on you to keep me relatively sane for the next 4 years. ✌🏼

While I’m generally a fan of this show, the latest episode with Derek Thompson, in part on the LA fires, committed political malpractice in not laying blame and responsibility for the LA fires squarely on Trump and the republicans. The fires are a climate change disaster - this isn’t about “forest management” or the delta smelt. Good lord, these are Republican talking points cooked up in advance defense of a party that is planning to promote oil drilling and roll back clean energy progress as two of its signature out-of-gate issues. Laying blame where it belongs is a political slam-dunk for Dems and anti-Trump voices - and it’s also absolutely correct. Come on!
